I really love this game since the first time I knew how to play the game. Actually, what I did to make it be more enjoyable is to create persons with different aspirations, different personality etc...I also built big houses, I'm fond of decorating each houses. Sometimes I change the design of my bedroom or living room so that I won't feel bored. Hope this help:)

I'm not really sure what to tell you because I hardly ever get bored with the game. When I do, I just don't play it for awhile and then try again another day. I have all the expansions so there is always something different to try. Right now my goal is to own all the other businesses. I'm trying to do it without cheating. I can't wait for the new expansion to come out. I think it comes out in February.

I read that it ships Feb 27. Can't wait!
A great way to keep the game fun is to check out some of the challenges people have created on the sims2.com BBS!

If you always make the character the same, or don't mix it up or your game doesn't have the other expansions you could make it pretty boring if your just doing dishes and cooking pizza. First of all which Sims 2. I find the PC version to be more fun cause you can download hairstyles, clothes and whatever you want that's been created by other internet users. Going on dates, having pets, making up stories...Seeing how many kids you can raise...are challenges. Have a few different family's to mix it up. Make schemes. Live a few generations through a sim family and see the genetic changes and money, and easy life passed down. Plus-Seasons expansion. There'd be new activites, weather, and more to experience including wearing the right clothes or experience the consequences .

create challenges for yourself. and concentrate on 1 family first.
for example, there was this 'asylum challenge'. the challenge needs 8 members, but you control only 1 sim. meaning you don't care about the others. you can only have the cheapest furnitures/items etc and you need to make everybody happy. and your 1 sim runs the asylum. no sim can go out of the house except your 1 sim. all items must be inside the house. only 3 sims are allowed to die. etc etc.
that way you have a goal and sims 2 will never be boring.
by the way, i can't wait for the new expansion pack!!!

I just get bored in sims 2 is when I cant keep my relationship to my friends. I always end up losing the friend which is needed in my work so I can get promoted. But I just take this more challenging and it turns my boredom to strive more to keep up the relationship.

I have to recommend the Legacy challenge, too! I've been playing my Legacy family on and off for over a year now, and I am finally almost to the 10th generation! It's quite a bit different from how I normally play, so it has been a really fun challenge!
