DO you let children see you smoke or drink??

First of all I dont smoke and I also dont even drink. But if I do these kind of things I wont never do in front of my child because he can try that in fun too.

no its not okay because if children see u like this then there may be possibility that they r not afraid to do like drinking & smokink like u.it left bad impression on children's mind.

depends on what kind of children and their brought up environment, if they are teached to respect their elders then i do not think they would think of trying it for themselves.

I do not smoke and drink! I do think it is harmful for child to smoke

I am not a parent yet, nor am I a smoker, but I do enjoy drinking. Whenever I have my own kids, I think I'll be more careful when it comes to my drinking rate. We need to give the best examples to kids so that they can grow up in a balanced way and I believe that the parents who don't avoid those vices in front of their kids are simply uneducating them by doing that.

hi cuddleme. i don't think it is too bad if your kids know you smoke but think you should smoke away from them as not to harm them from passive smoking. when the kids are out with friends there is going to be peer pressure to smoke and they will make their own choice i think!

Everyone will have good and bad habits with them.And it is natural that no one likes the dependants to know that they have such weaknesses. I did not hear anyone sitting with their child and smoke or drink but there are people who ignore the bad habits of their children when they come to know of it. And it is not advisable to sit with children and do the bad habits. The children will have some hidden fears about their parents irrespective of the qualities of the parents. Hence an atmosphere should not be created for the children to feel free when they do some unwanted acts.

My mom and dad both smoke, and they did it infromt of us kids (3 of us) and only I started smoking so I guess it can go either way, I have friends who are smokers and they were never exposed to it at home...

i think is not good for kidz.. with this..th kid can try to smoke and drink.. so father and brother must take one place to smoke for their kidz

My children never seen me smoke or drink because i never did. But my husband smokes , and he did smoke in front of the kids, and there was never a problem with it. My children dont smoke.

I am not married so don't have children but definitely would not smoke even in front of my parents or siblings

I personally do not smoke so that one is not a concern, really I do not drink very often either so really that does not create a huge problem. My parents never drank infront of me growing up I do not think there was even any in the house to tell you the truth. My dad did smoke when I was younger and had no problem doing it where ever he wanted. He quit though probably when I was around 7-8.

Well, we do set an example of our behavior to our children. So odds are, if they see us drink and smoke, most of them will too.

no,and why we should after all we know that these things are bad for body then why not we keep it away from children

i think u should quit smoking and boozing if u have kids because it has a very bad effect on child mind

It is not right to smoke and drink before the children. Because they learn from us.

i don't think at all this is healthy for children to see us adults smoke and drink, because kids love to copy us, that is a fact. you can't expect your child to be "good", if you are giving a bad example and doing the exact opposit. ciao vicky
