mp3player problems

i just bought a snadisk sansa m240 mp3player
the bad thing is that it doesnt work
i put a batery in it and only the welcome screen apeared.
i pressed the menu button but nothing happend.
i pressed the other buttons but nothin happend.
What can i do???
