Understand clearly. The controversy was created by Ganguly himself. chappel wanted ganguly to forego captaincy and concentrate on his batting. Ganguly didn't want to do it. He suffered the ignonimity of getting dropped from the team. Now after concentrating on his batting, he has rediscovered his form which was what chappel wanted in the first place. In fact earlier once, when his batting deserted him, ganguly didn't come to you or me to get advise. He approached chappel and he corrected him. Now don't spoil his beautiful game by giving captaincy again. May be appoint him as vice captain to utilise his experience. So he can bat with freedom and also offer good suggestions to the captain. This way he can have the cake and eat it too.
