I love watching 24. Recently, I finished watching series 5 on DVD and it was brilliant.
For those of you who don't know, a feature film version of 24 is expected to be resleased in the summer of 2008 based in between day 7 and day 8. The film will not take place in real time.
What is your oppinions on this? Will it be good? Will it spoil 24? Is abandoning the real-time format a bad thing? Will it be a success? Will you watch it?
Let me know what you think.

I've been a big fan of 24 since Day 1 (First Season/First Series) in October of 2001 and I own Seasons/Series 1 and 2 on DVD, and (of course) now watching Day 6 on Fox.
I, too, have heard about the 24 feature film, and I have to admit that I feel some trepidation as far as to how the writers will depict the characters from the one-episode-equals-one-hour show without using the real-time format. Obviously, they can't tell a 24-related story as they do on TV; it'd be a day-long movie, right, and where would the food and loo breaks fit in?
That having been said, if the show's writers are involved, I don't see why 24: The Movie would not be a good film.

I am a big fan of the 24 series, so I'll definitely watch the film. But I think yes it will spoil 24 as it's not in the real-time format. Anyway, if they make the real-time format, then we'll have to sit in the theater for 24 hours lol.. or maybe they can make it divided into 12 parts, like the trilogy of The Lord of The Rings (3 parts).

Sure, it must be a great series. But so far I didn't watch any episode of it, because I was busy watching Lost, Atlantis, Breaks and other movies. You know when you have to work on daytime, there is not much time left in evening. I am now trying to get copies of 24 and start watching the movie.

I love this movie and I watch series 1-5 already. I really like how the movie goes and how Jack Bauer is damn smart even though he is so rebellious and never followed procedure, but seriously, those procedure make him lost track of the suspect.wow, its gonna take a long time to wait for the next series if it is in 2008 released then. Ive been itching to wait for the next movie to come out. What do you mean by day 7 and 8? are you sure its not gonna take real time again, ow.. thats dissapointing but I would still watch it though. Maybe because the issue cannot be solved within 24 hours and it would become unreasonable time to do that, maybe that is why they decide they would not be in real time anymore. But, thats what makes the film unique. Why would they not do it?

I love 24 hours. It is a thrilled movie and it is also a combination between science and fiction. I think the first episode of this movie is more interesting. Don't you think 24 hours is like James Bond 007? However, James Bond 007 is more "feminine" than 24 hours? I don't care if the film won't take place in real time as long as it can entertain me. Besides, I don't notice if the time is not in real time.

I heard they were bringing out the movie a little while back. I think it is a mad idea. For me the best thing about 24 is its uniqueness. The fact that it is in real time just draws me so much. Its clever and it works. Why take that away i dont know!! Another reason i think 24 is so good is the fact that each episode leaves you drooling for more. You will get to the episode on TV and you end up talking to everyone you know for the next week trying to figure out what is going to happen in next weeks episode. You wont get that with a film. The only way a film would work is if they say did it in 6 lots of 3 hour movies but i somewhat doubt that is going to happen lol.

I've never watched 24 but I've never been as tempted to watch it as I have been this year. My good friend loves Jack Bauer and he says that the first 4 hours this year have been insanely good. It's all over CBS promos too.
I should really get into it but now I've already missed the first 4 hours!

I, too, love 24. I never miss a single episode. In my opinion, I think the movie would be excellent quality-wise, but it might be a little odd. That is because the producers must either compress 24 hours into 2-3 hours, or make a mini-story. But a mini-story just wouldn't go along with how 24's stories are structured. So basically, I guess the movie is a mixed bag for now, from what we know about it.
