I use to go a day or days without water. I would drink soda or tea instead. I have cut way back on tea and soda and am trying to take in more water. I now drink from 8 to 12 glasses a day. I also drink diet lemonaide as well. Caffine started to play with my system causing my heart to do weird things.

It took two weeks but I have slowly been building myself up. For the last 4 days I have drank at least 64 ounces of water each day. Before that I rarely drank water. I can feel an amazing difference in my body. My friend is a nurse and she said they actually recommend that you drink half of your body weight in water.

Well this is a simple question with no easy answers. but in truth your water needs depends on many factors, includind your health, how active you are and where you live. though no singal formula fits everyone, knowing more about your body's need for fluids will help you estimate how much water to drink each day

Is it eight glasses or eight cups? I think its ridiculous to expect people to drink 8 glasses a day. That is really hard, especially for busy people. if you made a conscious effort you might be able to, but otherwise its just sooo much water.
I probably drink about 3 glasses a day, I use a Brita filter jug system but I hate having to refill it so I don't drink as much as I should.

I don't know, because I haven't counted, but I'm pretty sure that I drink enough, because I'm thirsty most of the time and water is usually the one thing that really drains my thirst out. Juices and sodas work to sometimes, but it's usually water that does the trick, like I've said before.
