A few days ago i heard of a story about a guy whom had a knife and attempted to kill someone. At one point everything led to another, and it ended up with about 10 cops on a circle around the knife man, and every cop shot at him, and killed him. also they killed a civilian with an apparent (stray bullet) how does this happen??? this is an outrage. Are these just not well trained cops?? i think so.

The police and other law enforcement officers are trained to use the minimal amount of force to obtain compliance. The presence of a weapon by a non-compliant individual is going to complicate matters and no officer is going to use a knife in a knife fight. These men and women have families and ultimately they want to go home.
In the US, there is a system in place to review all uses of force. This is to ensure that our officers remain compliant with applicable laws and regulations. But as mentioned in an earlier post, the media only shows what they feel will increase their ratings and rarely is the viewer ever shown the whole story.

i understand so its ok that the police save there own lives, and kill an innocent person + a (criminal) rather than them do there duty to protect and serve, by attempting to disarm them. So its perfectly ok to you that someone who is trained in hand to hand combat cant win against a knife wielder. they have so many possibilities to use against them, yet every policeman fires at them. that's really protecting of the people, especially when they killed someone innocent + the knife wielder.

I'll make this my last post on this topic as it appears that we will just have to disagree. You feel that the real victim is the person welding the knife. I see a bunch of police officers that made it home safe. True, there was an actual innocent bystander in this case.
If I was personally faced with a knife welding (minor mental issue or not) person, I would be using my primary weapon and keep them outside of reach. It's called double-tapping until they stop. Then I would go home and kiss my wife and children.

I hate cops. The cops in my country think they can do whatever they want, and to talk to people however they can.
They think that just because they are the law, they decide what to do and how to do it. It's piss me off to see this !
I think that someone need to take the law in hands, and do something about this.
