Yep. I've heard of it. It's about 45 minutes to an hour south of me (depending on traffic). I don't go that way very often. I usually am headed to Houston or Magnolia when I get down that way...that's where some of my family lives.Old Town Spring is kind of fun to hang out and shop though.

unfortunately, i have heard of it. to my surprise alot of my distant relatives have too...i am not talking about because i had to get stuck her either. lol. they heard of it before. what shocked me the most is that i didn't see as many cactuses, or horses just everywhere i expected. that would have been better. instead right outside your door, there is nothing for miles and miles and miles.
hopefully, by next year. i will be saying i use to have to live there. sigh.

There are more horses up north than in Spring. Actually there are still a lot of horses and such down towards magnolia too, but you have to know where to find them. They seem kind of tucked in between the malls and other city life that's been coming in so much the last few years.the only cactus I've seen here in east Texas though is prickly pear.I'm more in the piney woods section.Go a tiny bit south towards Houston and you have what one visitor I kmet once described as "muggy, buggy, and rainy...or just plain hot".I think most people remember the movies they've seen where they had to be able to use some of the studio lots in California that looked right...so they went to west Texas where there is a LOT less water, more cactus and tumbleweeds and big ranches with not much in between.

no water...lol. that's funny there is like only two bodies of water in texas. lol. one of them is in houston and it looks like a pool of mud. when you get out of it, it's full of sand. i also noticed that things don't really grow from trees here. even in the chi (chicago) things grow. sigh. now, it's janurary and getting ready to be hot as heck already. heat get me sick and i just am not looking forward to this summer. i sooo hate it here.

Welcome to mylot. We just moved from Porter,Tx. That's about 25 miles west (umm I think lol ) of Spring. We're living in North Carolina now. But we have to come back this weekend to get the rest of our things.

I have family in Katy, TX, just west of Houston. I've only been there once, as most of my family lives up around the Dallas/FtWorth area.
