I recently submitted a poem to poetry.com and got a letter in the mail saying it made it to the finals, and will be publish in a book. Is this some type of gimmick? Any info would be great! Thanks in advance.

It will be published in a book but do not count on wining anything, I dished out the money for the book so I would have something to show my friends when they came over.

It's definitely a scam. They will certainly publish your poem, but I think they publish every poem that is sent in. Many years ago, I submitted a poem (2 actually at separate times). I got them both published, and was a sucker. I bought the first book with the first poem in it. I did not fall for it a second time though, so I really have no idea if the second poem actually was published or not. I still have the book though, and I guess I can at least say I have a poem published, but it is definitely a scam. They just want your money.
