I find it unusual that so many bowlers are from Florida and there are no pro events anywhere near Florida.
Today's final round featured three people from Florida...
Jason Couch (Clermont)
Patrick Allen (Wesley Chapel)
Walter Ray Williams Jr. (Ocala)
Other notables include:
David Tessman Lake Placid, Fla.
Chris Hayden Orlando, Fla.
I am sure there are others but you get my point.
Is the PBA ever coming to the south?

I don't follow bowling, but I'm curious to know if this is the first case of Floridians doing so well? I guess, if they nornally aren't, it wouldn't make any sense to bring the PBA south, but if it is than it would make sense.

One record he holds is converting 475 single-pin spares before he finally missed a 10-pin earlier this year. That is an absolutely amazing streak that will probably never be broken and people will not understand the gravity of how great of a bowler he really is.

It is very surprising that there is no PBA tournaments held in Florida since many bowlers are from there and is a big state and has lots of attractions and other things people can do while they are in Florida. I think they should have at least one tournament in Florida. I think they will expand at some point.

They have southern regionals down here but no professionals. I believe the reason is money. It costs a lot of money for the pros to go from the west coast (where most tournaments are held [and the midwest]) all the way down to Florida.
I still say that is no excuse...
