ADD and ADHD

it think some people may get mad at me but it seems to me alot of children are being diagnosed with add or adhd i belive that some children have this(rarely) not many though because most kids use to be well behaved. i think it is just an excuse for some parents with children they cant control i also have talked to alot of older people i know who have said they never had things like that when they were younger i think mabey all these threats of abuse for smacking your children could have scared alot of people away from displening there child or mabey doctors are just better at diagnosing things now i would like to here peoples thoughts on this.
