looking for advise on abandoned property adverse possesion!?! Please help

Hi, I am looking to accuire & move in to a run down property in somerset, it was brought in 1993 & hasnt been lived in for atleast 8-10yrs! Its registered to a lady who i cant trace. There is a broken window and locks to change - the garden is 10ft tall in brambles & paintwork & brickwork will need some tlc all of which i will be doing, have posted myself a letter there for proof of date. Can anyone offer me any further advise on anything else i can do or a land specialist who offers advise?? Many thanks Stuart

In some places, if you pay the property taxes for a specified number of years, you can apply for a tax deed and own the property. So, please check with the local tax office before you have a lot of time and/or money involved.
