Why do a lot, if not all, kids pick their nose and eat it?

hi five. funniest thing i have read today lol! it is a funny thing isn't it. i even know some adults that do it when they think you are not looking.

I've no idea why, but all three of daughters do this! My youngest, who's two walks around with her finger permantley stuck up her nostril! She even wiggles her bum to music on the telly, still with her finger up her nose!

i dont think there is a reason why they do it its just a nasty thing that kids do and hopefully they will grow out of it

hehheeh ya you are very true i also lots of kids doing this and now my oen daughter experimenting by putting things in her nose and soemtimes poking in her ears... her new habbits become very trouble some for me.. because she couldnot speak now so i couldnot ask her what she might had did wrong??? ya with children the life become really tough... kids wanted to do experiemnts with new objects and using their own extral organs...

Lol this is one of those age old questions that no one can really answer. Your right every kid does it and if someone says their kid didn't you can be assured they are lying or blind..

I DA KNOW either, lol. Ugh, it's a disgusting habit but you're right there are a lot of kids that do that. Any time I catch my kids doing it, I suggest they get a tissue and then tell them to wash their hands.

I think they like the taste. I know you have cried at least once in your life. Maybe your nose had run. Then you have tasted along with tears. I succeeded cutting this habbit to my son. When I asked him why he does this he answered because it was yummy. So, I told him that this is bad for his health.

You know, that is a very gross habit!!! But I have seven children and I can say that not all children do it. ha ha I am struggling with my 9 year old to get him to stop. But he gets busted often. And if I am not the one that sees him, it is one of the other children that busts out with a very loud, "EWWWWWWW!" My first response is, "Don't tell me...he is eating his boogers again." In which I have to turn and look at a child with a very guilty face! LOL And you are right...his response when I ask him why he keeps doing it, "I don't know!!!!"

I do not remember picking my nose when I was younger. And I think my mom said that she never saw me pick my nose! :D But, that is a great question. I have know idea why they do that. And, like you said when you do ask them all you get is, "I don't know." Then you say, "There has to be a reason why you do that." And you still only get the I don't know response. It is gross though!!! And, I wish I knew why...well maybe I don't want to know! :D

Ill lol i dont know either. its a nasty habbit but all my kids did it and one still does it. goodness. i'm going to check back in to see if you get a good answer to this one.

I've seen my toddler placing his finger inside his nose rarely. Everytime he soes, I just put his finger down.Now,I do not tell him: "Don't do that!" . I do nottell him like that because I don't want him to feel like he did the most horrible thing in the world, we are humans!

oh god...where did you see that?? im puking over here...if you see another kid do that beat the hell out of him and tell him you'd be back after him if he does it again
