How tolerant are you?

Are you a tolerant person? What makes you get uptight? I cannot stand bad service myself. Queuing in shops when there are not enough staff to manage the tills is when I lose my tolerance. People who go through a store door and leave it to close just as I'm entering and people who let you open the door and rush past without a thank you. I shout after them asking why I never got a tip but I do not do it so much if my wife is with me. She gets embarrassed. How about you?

child - Child not wanting to listen to abuse

I think the older I get, the more tolerant I get. I don't mind standing in line, even if I don't think there are enough check-outs operating. I have stopped expecting people to hold a door open, so it doesn't bother me. There are things, though, that I won't tolerate. I can't stand bad language, and this is becoming worse and worse, by more and more people; men, women (I won't say ladies) and children. When people are swearing and using foul language in a public place, I will sweetly ask them to desist in the presence of a lady. In a supermarket, I have often told men that they should complain to the management if there is so much blood around. If the language is really foul I haven't yet told them to get out into the gutter where they belong, but one day I might. There is one thing that annoys me more than foul language and that is any abuse of children. I am completely intolerant of this. We hear so much mental abuse as mothers struggle to control their children. One of these days I'll probably land myself myself in trouble, but I cannot do otherwise than approach the mother. At first, it is usually an offer to help or a gentle reproach, but I leave them in no doubt of the harm they are doing their children. I think I am a tolerant person, but when it comes to swearing and any form of child abuse, I have almost zero. Another good discussion. Thanks

Politicians are a different breed. May I ask why you chose Evacuee as your myLot name?

Hi. I am quite a tolerant person too and I don't really shout after someone who just walks through the door, as I said earlier, and does not give a thank you as they pass but I sure feel like it sometimes. But I must add I do not like bad service. As for swearing, profound swearing, at anyone I can honestly say I've never done that in my life. I can argue, as my wife can verify but I can also apologise too, mostly just to keep the peace. What the heck we're all on this planet to get on with one another, that excuses the politicians of course!

Of course you may. As I said in a previous posting. I was a Evacuee back in 1939 and another reason is that when we moved up here to the countryside from London the locals referred to us as the Evacuees for a time and still do with affection, I hope. So it seemed an obvious choice.

I like to think I am tolerant - yes! Of course everyone has bad days when they feel tired or stressed and get a little more impatient than they should do - but on the whole I try to see life from others' point of view as well as my own. About the only thing I am truly intolerant of is others' intolerance and bigotry if that makes sense!

Hi rosie Well thats sense to me. But I do find I am probably more intolerant now than I have been in the past. Probably because I'm getting to be a 'grouchy old man'!

Yes, queing when there's not enough check out operators annoys me too, but what really gets to me is when you're in a supermarket, in a hurry and there's two cashiers, that seem to believe their job is to talk to each other, and hold up everyone waiting to pay!

I tend to be a very tolerant person I think. When faced with such a situation as you mentioned above, I always think perhaps that person has had a really bad day and just try and forget about it. Sometimes it does upset me, but I would never say anything to the person. I'm like your wife, lol, I'd get embarrassed too.

Thanks xxangelxx and I appreciate your input but maybe that might be the one thing that gives you your bad day!

Depends on my mood. Usually I could wait in line if it's short. I have to admit I've left a shop because I didn't want to wait.

I am pretty tolerant to most thing but if my Internet service starts running slow and it is their fault it really steams me! And I hate rude people at the store that push their way in front of you like they are the only one's that matter on this earth! And I think the worst thing Ever Ever is someone popping and snapping their gum in my ear!! *grrrr*

You forgot to say you are a nice person too but what are you doing here if you don't like my discussions? This is a stupid disagreement for which if it is my fault I apologise. Thank you for posting.
