As I do repair everything around the house myself it "should" be done promptly.. but as I am a lazy person sometimes and a busy person all of the time it can go for a few days before it get fixed.. I feel a bit guilty about it but that is for minor leaks (just drops) but with real leakage i must do it promptly.

I repair it promptly because if it is left it scores the seat and then you have to replace the body of the tap.
And if you leave it dripping a long time it stains the basin then you need to replace that.
As the saying goes ' a stich in time saves nine'

As this can rapidly lead to more problems which would no doubt be much more expensive I would attempt to get it fixed as quickly as possibly. I tend to run into a lot of water problems in this house, enough that people constantly make jokes about it, hehe. Therefore it's best if I get them fixed really quick, before people notice and come up with more jokes, haha.

If something is wrong with anything in the house I tell my husband he has to fix it as he can fix pretty much anything . If he doesn't get around to doing in when I firgure he should then he will generally get up then and do it as he says I will do it wrong and just give him more work , so this would include a leaking tap but it would take a couple of days to get him to realize I was serious about getting it done .

My husband takes care of that kind of stuff. I tell him to fix it and he usually gets it done right away. Unless it is at 5 pm right before bed. then he waits and usually forgets about it.

When ever my bathroom's tap starts leaking my dad always calls a plumber and repaid it but it takes a long time because he is kind of busy person and doesn't got much time. So he doesn't give this work priority and then when he is free he calls a plumber and makes it repaired.
