Do you think our world has become consumed with too much mobile technology, and not really too much, but overly advertised as a necessity to life? I see too many people on cell phones, Blackberries, Wi-Fi's that it's really distracting at times, to try and simply grocery shop and have to listen to a person have a full conversation in the grocery aisle. Can't it wait until you get home? I mean come on, it's getting a bit ridiculous, and an 8 yr old asking for a cell phone? Give me a break.

Well anybody has a cellphone these days, we cannot blame technology because for sure there are always new and improved models coming up. As for an 8 year old asking for a cellphone, yes a lot of kids are like that these days, anyway what is the proper age for them to have a cellphone?

My point was the excessive use for them. I have one soley for the purpose of emergencies. Like when we had a huge blizaard out here, and if I got stuck in the snow, I would at least have my cell phone to call for emergency, as for kids, I say in their teens. My 15 yr old has one, to check in and for me to call him and know where he is, but my 10yr old doesn't really need one....

Mobile is getting too far, but in the other hand is very practical. I don't use regular phone any longer. I have cell phone only. As far as ethics of using cell phone, most people are not educated. Talking aloud in any public place is very rude. Kids? they can have cell phone programed for two numbers only, home and 911. I like that concept.

I also use a cell phone too, so don't take me wrong, I'm speaking of the people who use it too much.....like in the grocery store, and dept stores. I don't want to hear someone's phone conversation. I use mine for emergency purposes.

I think that the instruments are in their infancy and are not good enough yet to be really attractive but if they get a CD sized device that does computing music internet then I may be interested otherwise I will stick with my regular cell and laptop

mobile can now do many work that a single device used to do. u must have heard of nokia 5500, it's having a pedometer and all the sports function. so we can throw away all the solo gadgets and buy a mobile that can ensure us that they are not like the single device which have to be replaced over time
