How often do you pray?

Do you pray? I used to be very religious years ago. But I seldom pray now. Mostly I just pray when I'm thankful for something or when I need something. I know this is a bad reason to pray. I would really like to have a more personal relationship with God but it's just so difficult to have time with Him when I'm loaded with taking care of my kid and my household.

It's my devotion that everything I do, be less important or more important, I do pray to God. I prayed to thank God for all the blessings, graces, and guidance He shared to me, to my family, and to all people. Our prayers are our way to connect daily to God, The Almighty. I pray before and after my meals. I pray before and after I sleep, I pray before and after my decisions, I pray for world peace, love, and unity for the whole world. Everything is possible through prayers.

I pray many times throughout the day. I beleive the Bible says "pray w/o ceasing". So, when I think of a praise, thought, or concern - I give it to God, in the shower, on the road, doing dishes, whatever. I am not Catholic and seldomly pray written prayers. I pray what's on my mind. I do believe, however, in the example of the Lord's prayer. When we pray we should give praise and thanks to God, even in rough times. And, we should ask for God's will and help in keeping His ways. You'll find if you put your relationship with God first, all things will fall into line after that.

I pray upon waking up in the morning, before and after eating, before going to school and elsewhere..when my parents are going somewhere..when I'am crying, i also do pray. I do this as if God is my friend, a brother I could easily talk and communicate my feelings to.

I pray everynight but I find myself talking to God often during the day. It helps keep me close to him if I am talking to him. It doesn't matter what I'm doing. People probably think I'm nuts if I am driving down the road talking out loud but sometimes I do.

I dont get to pray as often as i would like to. I believe that i should put aside atleast 10 minutes a day to pray to god and thank him for all ive got. but i dont find myself doing so everyday. Its very erratic..sometimes every day of the week and sometimes just once or twice or not even that.

Im not that religious so i wont pray always..I just pray to God usually if i face some problems but its not mean that i forgot God. I know its not good not to always put God first in your heart, but i think its useless to pray if its not from your heart.

Yes I used to pray everyday since I was a small child till now everynight I must pray and thank god for his good things that he gave me even if I'm tired I also pray but if I'm very tired I only make it shorter but it is a must. I know many people didn't pray because of the life everyone is busy and have no time to do anything but god has his right on us so we mustn't forget him in every time and all times.

I am catholic but i dont pray the usual stuff a catholic do or the way should a catholic pray, like praying the rosary, novenas, and other written and repetitive forms of prayer, becuase prayer to me is way of communicating to God, doing those mentioned above can be tideous and boring and sometimes get rid of the true essence of prayer, i pray in a peaceful, private manner, everytime i had the chance, before sleeping, waking-up or on any ocassion i feel like praying,i pray to ask for something, and to thank GOd as well for the many blessing he has given to me. i remember this quote once from the tv program Oprah which says "If the only prayer you know is saying thank you, then that's enough.

I do not believe in praying and in GOD. I think there is no one who can change your life, bless you with happiness...except yourself. For me, my work is my worship. I believe in myself and in hardwork.

I don't pray as often as I should either, something to remember is that God ALWAYS has time for us, so we need to make time for him. I think sometimes, some of us (me included) get lazy and make excuses. We really need to try to inprove this. I know it's important to talk to God everyday, he probably doesn't care what we say as long as we say something. When I do pray, it's done while I'm driving, in the shower, when I'm in bed. I'm trying to get better at it, and I want to make sure it becomes a regular habit of mine.

I had the same problem myself. I really want to have a closer relationship with God, but I am too weak spiritually to do achieve that. SO much time spend at work, looking after my kids and house chores, that I feel almost too exhausted to do anything else by the end of the day. But am trying........still maybe not enough....Any suggestion from anyone how I could overcome my weakness?

See answer 220. I am praying for you that you will find the place of peace that allows you to communicate with God on a conscious level 24/7, whatever else you may be doing.

oh, and uh.. it's ok to turn to Him when you have problems.. God doesn't mind that.. actually He's probably giving you problems so that you'll remember Him despite your busy activities at home.. =)

I never pray, because I'm an atheist. But also when I was a Christian, I didn't use to pray very often.

If you were truely a Christian, that means at a time you believed and chose Christ as your personal Savior. Then, how can you not believe? That'd be like me loving an believing in my children and then all of a sudden, not having that or unconditional love anymore. My guess is you were only labeled a "Christian".

Well, I don't pray, to be honest. What good does it honestly do? I just don't see the point behind it? People make fun of people who talk to themselves and yet it's okay to pray to someone who isn't responding back. I have plenty of fam who's into it and that's fine, it's a personal choice. I just don't see the point behind it.

If I can share it with you, have you ever thought that maybe God did respond back? Sometimes it is us who dont want to listen to what He has to say, maybe?
