Do you guys approve of your wife's/gf's male friends?

My boyfriend is cool with me having male friends but he is still wary of them. According to him, guys have more on their mindthan just being friends. Is this true? I know girls can be oblivious sometimes to a guy's true intention but can't a guy be truly friends with us without ever hitting on us?
