The last time I tried to dye my hair I think I put too much olive oil. Does the olive oil reduce its effectiveness? What are the best ingredients to mix, how long should I let it sit aside before the application and how long should I let it on my hair?

the longer you leave it in the better i put it in my mothers hair and she leaves it in over night she puts a towel around her neck carefully so it wont get all over and leaves it till the next morning until its rock solid hard and then you wash it out. you dont have to leave it in that long but like i said the longer the better it will be( the richer the color is and darker red it will be) but as long as it is completely dry before you wash it out you should be fine!!

Hi im Toya I use henna all the time and think its a great product - It depends what condition your hairs in - if you havent used henna much before its better just to mix it with warm fresh water. you mix it into a paste - to get your hair red you can buy a red henna powder - then add some cream around your hairline and wear gloves so it doesnt color youre hands - then apply with a hair coloring brush at the roots - you just do a middle parting and brush at both sides of the roots and go round your hair separating it into sections - then add the rest of the paste to your hair and massage in well - cover your head well so the henna doesnt drip and leave for at least 5 hours - if you dont use henna much then its probably best to do your hair twice a month at first so you get a good rich color and dont use too many heat styling products or gels and hairsprays - and just use a good shampoo and conditioner - you can also buy natural henna quinquinoa (i think thats how you spell it) which doesnt have any color but conditions your hair really well - you could use it twice a month to begin with - hope this helps please write back if youve used henna again
