How is marine engineering life? My nephew wants to join.

We are in confusion what to do. After a survey we have collected information from our known persons who have some experience in marine life. But there is a controvercy in them. My nephew recently recieved a job offer as a diesel maintainence engineer. he needs your esteemed advice.

One of my distent relative is in merchant navy. He is making a lot of money. He was a poor man like me but now he has all luxury amenities like banglow, car, gems and jwellary, every thing. So the life must be better in this marchent navy I think.
