Where I live we have a house rules all Dogs must be on a leash...A few people have decided they can let their pitbull-rotweiler mix......Both berds are very aggressive.....There are small children that live in the complex and could be hurt if this dog get upset.... Also the resident doesn't pick up after the dog...So he leave piles all over the place whick is a health hazzard....Should I call animal control or just continue telling our resident manager????????

no matter the breed of dog, if there is a leash law, then it should be followed! if you own a pet of any kind you are responsible for it, whether it is picking up after it or making sure it isnt bothering other ppl. if you've complained to the resident manager more than a couple of times and still no difference; then perhaps it is time to call animal control. dont report the dogs as being aggressive (unless they are being that way) but ask them what can be done. most states require dogs to be licensed and if nothing else the animal control officers will usually come to investigate that and to warn the owners about their need to leash their dogs.

I know both breeds can be either like little lambs or they can be mean. It is all on the way the owner handles them. But a leash law should be obeyed, especially in a apartment complex as you never know when a dog will charge at someone. Doesn't matter what breed they are or how big or small they are. If the manager doesn't do something to enforce it I would call animal control, they will get a good fine and they better have all the shots update also... People need to be more respondable for their pets, after all they can't clean up their own doo doo...We use the plastic bags from the stores where we live to pick up after our little miniature schnauzer. I don't want to hear that some kids were playing and either stepped in it or worst fell on it...ewwwwww Plus the piles do draw flies and that isn't good either...I would tell the manager you are calling animal control since she isn't doing her job.....

I think that I am also going to call the main office and turn the resident manager in for not making sure that the dog isn't being controled then will call animal control to see if they can do anything about it....

Hmmm, tough one. I'm thinking the resident manager should be calling animal control. I hope the dog is better trained than the owner. While pitt bulls and rotweilers can be aggressive, they can also be very well-behaved dogs. It depends on how they are raised. However, if you have leash laws, I guess I would put a call in to animal control if I saw the dog wandering around unattended.

the manager told me the other day that the dog had to go but it's still here so I'm going to call animal control...cause it nipped a little kid last night.

I would call animal control. Anyone who can't understand and obey simple laws and basic responsibility like picking up after your animal should not have the animal.

You are so right that people can't take care of their animals so they shouldn't have one.
