Until what age do you think it's appropriate to go trick or treating?

When I was a kid the rule was once you turn into a teenager (13) your too old to be trick or treating. To me that sounded fair so every year after that I would hand out the candy, and then either go to a Hallowe'en dance or party at a friends place.

I'd say that thirteen should be the cut off age but I know more than a few older teens that still dress up and try to snag some treats. As an adult I love to dress up and walk around, it's the one night that you can be anything you want and no one takes notice of what you are wearing.

I don't have a problem with teens going, as long as they dress up and have fun. And they have to let the little kids have fun too. My 15 & 12 yr olds go out. They mostly hang out with their friends, and act goofy in their costumes.

For children, until they are embarassed by finding themselves out and about with "mere children". For adults who are young at heart and have delightful and intelligent costumes, never! Proper "Trick or Treat Etiquette for Adults" demands that they do not accept candy.
