They say women who are 35 years old and have not conceived have lesser chances of getting pregnant or are more prone to having babies with birth defects. But of course with the way things are going right now its really not a big deal. Its all about the choice of women. :-)

I agree - I'm asking this question because recently a 67 year old woman had her first baby. Obviously, they weren't her eggs that were used but is it fair to the child to have an 87 year old mother (if she's even still alive) when they are only 20 years old?

I would say mid thirties. One has to take in consideraton the well being of the child. Even it a mother of sixty can get pregnant, she would not have the stamina of a thirty year old mother. And toddlers can be quite exhausting.

It probably varies so you should see your doctor. Some people say that it's not good to have a baby after 30 especially if it's your first born because it's hard to have one then. But I know people who waited til they were in their late 30's to have their first baby. I think what's at stake is the health of the baby and the mother. The older the woman gets, the more risk of the baby having birth defects... or developmental defects. There are a lot of menopause babies though and they are quite smart...
