Which country in Europe is tops for going away to for a weekend?

I want to book a weekend away and I am unsure where myself and my boyfriend should go that is not too expensive but loads to do and see.
I am from Romania...
So i am waiting for suggestions... and how much do you think will cost a weekend in your proposed country!

My vote would be for Italy. Beautiful country, grat food, nice people. Crazy drivers though. Good Luck.

Rome is good-very historical and picturesque, Madrid is a bit boring, Paris is good for architecture and romance, London is really busy and hugely expensive, Prague is full of drunken English stag parties, Copenhagen is nice but a little small. If you want a European City with loads to see and do then it has to be Barcelona. If you want to go spectacular and different then Lake Como in Italy is beautiful - especially when you get on a boat, it's not massively busy either, just nice and chilled. Have a good time wherever you decide to go!
