vacationing in India help needed!!!

I will be vacationing in India for 2 weeks.Mostly Bcoz my cousin has got to continue his education there (in bangalore).I am just tagging along .We will be in Bangalore and in Mumbai.Any place of real interest that i could go to (not the typical tourist type)? any ideas anyone?
