Todays head lines in my local newspaper are about an 11 year old boy who may be charged with murder. It would seem that the district attorney is considering charging this child with murder as an adult.
I dont know about you but I dont think this is the right thing to do, no matter what the circumstances may be. An 11 year old child has absolutely no concept of the severity of such actions and or criminal charges.
In my opinion, district attorneys who charge children as adults are only using the child as a vehicle to climb the ladder in his/her career.
Dont get me wrong, I dont think that they should just slap this kid on the hand and send him back home. Some kind of action needs to be taken but to charge a child with murder is just rediculous. To bring such charges against a child is only going to make things worse in the long run.
What is your opinion on the subject ?
