I remember my trip back to my country. We went on to visit this beautiful old church. Beside this church was an old folks home, a home for the aged. There quite plenty of them and most of them are just waiting for sunrise and sunset. I dont know whats wrong with that scene, because from what I know Filipino's are known for their hospitality and respect for their elders. Or maybe people are just too busy with their own life neglecting the ones who gave that life to them. Just a thought.

its really sad for me seeing old folks confined in the home for the aged and it saddens me to see old folks begging for money or food.
personally i would never abandon the old folks in my family. we filipinos, as what i am aware of, have strong family ties and we value our families very much. i think that sending your old folks in homes for the aged is not thanking them for giving life to you. i would never dream of doing that to my parents or to my grandparents because it will hurt me and it is sad to think of them being abandoned there away from their family. i think that they should spend the rest of their lives with their families.

I agree with that, we are raised and thought to have a strong family ties. I did manage to talk one of the old folks there as I have spare time waiting for someone. To my astonishment the old lady that I'm with is a PHD holder and definitely a smart lady. She even told me stuff that I'm didn't know. I did ask her why she's there. She's just noded and say 'They're all busy'.
