What is the worth of a wife and mother?

The press is reporting that Heather Mills' settlement with Paul McCartney works out to be an astounding $2,000 per hour. I have always thought that the value of a wife and mother is immeasurable, but on the other hand, I'd do it for free (obviously).
What do you think a wife and mother is worth, in terms of an hourly salary?

It depends on the mother. I feel that those of us who put in 100% for our families every day, deserve to be valued at equal to or greater than the breadwinner (depending on if the breadwinner is also putting in 100%).
Unfortunately there are mothers out there whose kids end up in foster care for a reason and many more whose kids SHOULD be in foster care but they have not yet been caught.

Wow, I could not agree more. I am afraid I have seen both kinds of mothers in my line of work. My mom is incredible and always gives at least 150% of herself. But, as you point out there are many selfish mothers who do not deserve a child. It is a sad thing.

The more I am around low income housing, the more I see the extreme difference between these two types of mothers. It seems like stress, financial duress, and tough times really bring out the extreme in parents. There are some mothers who bend over backwards trying to get out of the ghetto and make a better life for themselves and their families while there are others teaching their kids how to get away with theft.

I personally think it is also immeasurable. I have been divorced and chose not ask for anything but my things I came into the marriage with. I still did not get those, not even my wedding dress. Those things have sentimental value but when I left I wanted nothing from him. You can't put a monetary dollar amount on those you love!!

I do not believe there should be a comparison of a wife and mother with an hourly salary. I believe that would not be fair to them to be compared to a salary. A wife and mother are worth more than anything in this world. As you said, that they are immeasurable. It is sad when people compare other people to money or dollar values.

this is insane..to buy a mother/wife. but of course if heather mills is ready to give up her daughter for paul's money she is the one to blame. i had serious doubts about her intention when she got married to paul..i was right.all she saw in him was MONEY

I dont think you can put a pricetag on a wife or a mother. I truly feel badly for Paul Mccartney. He had a wonderful relationship with Linda and since her passing it seems like he got married to the biggest you know what in the world. I still will have to say that there shouldnt be a price tag on a mother or wife. They are priceless.
