why sites like orkut are banned by many instituions

Well,orkut is a social site which students often tend to misuse.There have been so many cases in which students themselves create fake profile of their teachers or professors and all and then fill in the scrapbook with some filthy words. These things should be stopped and sadly,we students are not mature enough to stop it ourselves.Thus,our institutions are forced to take such a step.. Secondly,it consumes lot of time and this shows on the overall development of any student. Thankfully it hasnt been banned in my college yet.Keep your fingers crossed..!!!

well simple reason ! because students get busy in all types of flirting and hangouts ! neither concentrating on their studies or academic related issues ! just take with you ! if you were running a college and all of your students coming in labs for practicals all busy in orkuting and etc !
