Should step parents have rights in a divorce?

I have 2 step children and I love them very much. Their dad and I are getting divorced however, and he is very manipulative about letting me see them. Now that he has a steady girlfriend, it's gotten even worse. I don't want them to think it's me not wanting to see them or that I don't care about them. I hear from their grandparents that they miss me and want to still see me. At first he wouldn't let me see them at all, then he let me for awhile, then it started getting so he wouldn't tell me when they were with him until the last minute when he knew I wouldn't be able to make it and then of course put the blame on me that he offered and it was me who didn't come see them. I'm pretty sure that is what he's told them as well. I have no legal rights, I can't make him let me see them. It's heartbreaking.

Does he have custody of the children? If he doesn't, maybe you can speak to their mother. Sounds like he is a bitter man. I wish I could offer you advise other than what I have stated. Huggers to you. Keep us posted.

Divorced with kids, means they already come from one broken family, and now from another. Your ex sound like a real you-know-what. I don't know either, but you're in my thoughts.

That is a testamony to the character of your Ex. I would post more about what I think of him but I doubt the censors here at MyLot would let them through.
