PSP - Do you use your psp for homebrew?

I upgraded my PSP firmware before realising that you needed lower versions to use homebrew...why can't Sony see they will more than likely get more interest if they allowed people to do homebrew on thier PSPs? It kinda reminds me when Sony made the "Black PS1" aka the Net Yaroze. You could make your own games, which was cool...what about making a kit like that?
