Did the 'Freshman 15' happen to you?

My daughter is busily preparing for college in the fall. I was telling her about my college experiences and mentioned the 'Freshman 15.' She laughed and said, "There is no such thing, you are making that up." I told her that it was a real thing and that she should 'google it.' She later did and came to me and said, "I thought for sure you were kidding." Did the 'Freshman 15' happen to you? Do you think it will become the 'Freshman 25' in years to come with the poorer diet of today?

I did experience this. I was really thin, probably too thin, when I graduated high school. Then I went to college and was going out all of the time, drinking and going to eat Krystal burgers at all hours of the night. It took a long long time to get back to a good weight.
And then I had a child and I've never been thin again! But that's another story...
I am cautiously optimistic that the increased awareness of the dangers of supersizing and transfats will help some young people avoid getting fat.

Yes, I too, am cautiously optomistic with the increased awareness of obesity and healthy diet. The campuses today have so many choices today that I didn't have. I would have probably gained 35 lbs with the choices that are out there today on college campuses!

Ha! Well I'm glad you are now normal! I sure wish I could handle 20 extra pounds so gracefully!
