Do you believe in Ghosts? What if you are agnostic/atheist?

My questions is really for the agnostics/atheists out there who don't generally have an opinion or who are against the idea of an afterlife.
Do you believe in ghosts? If so, how do you explain your belief?
Are you more scientific about your belief in ghosts/apparitions? For instance, do you think that all ghosts are just "energy," and not necessarily the soul of someone?
I am really curious about other's responses. I know a lot of people say they believe in ghosts, but I want to here why.

Well I seem to fit your target audience, because I'm atheist and I DO believe in ghosts ... or spirits ... or whatever you want to call them.
How do I explain it? I don't. I don't have a clue how it happens, or why it happens. As for why I believe it, because I have had first hand experience with situations that gave me no choice BUT to believe in ghosts. When you're confronted with the situation and still choose to ignore it, that's the height of blatant ignorance.
But I don't find it an indicator or a God, or Gods. I assume there's scientific basis to it, somewhere along the line .. that we simply haven't discovered yet. In the meantime, I'm satisfied with knowing that somehow it does happen, and that I'll likely never know, so I don't see a point in speculating about it.

Just to clear something up, agnostic does NOT mean 'not sure' ... it means to believe in a higher power, but be unsure or unconcerned about what it is or what it's purpose is. So there's no contradiction or confusion involved in an agnostic believing in ghosts or spirits ... they already believe in a God. They just haven't defined what God that is or what it's capable of.
