Are you the person pictured in your mylot icon?

Of course, I'm not... because I have a cat at my icon. But I see all these photos of people in their icons, and then I read their questions and responses and I start to question whether their pictures is of them or someone else.
For example, I've been following someone who is in my friends list and I thought it was a man because there is a photo of a man in the icon. But when I read the questions, they are reading as if it's a female, not a male.
Some of the profiles will tell you if they are M or F, but not all of them.
So, if you have a picture as your icon, is it you??? If not, who is it and why?

I unfortunately am not Tinkerbell. Sorry to disapoint you! :D If I were to post an actual picture as may avator - I wouldn't post as someone else. I think that's rediculous. How are people to trust the information that you offer on discussions if they cannot trust your avator.

Yes,the picture is of me at my place of work.
I know I have many discussions that appear strange for a male,but I am open and often a little blunt.
But I do enjoy this board and mainly answer interesting discussion more than post them.

I have no idea. Initially I was also perplexed. And when I chose an icon, I did pet with the idea of changing it according to the topics, but then realised that the icon would change then with my previous discussions as well. So, at present I have this picture of Russell Crowe in his ruminative mood in A Beautiful Mind. That represents me in many ways, and, I hope, that it does not distract the readers much, or leads them to confuse the icon with the real identity of me.

No, the person pictured in my icon is not me, but I am female.
The picture is Suzumiya Haruhi, from the anime "Melencholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" (translated name). I picked that picture because it looks cool, and Haruhi is an interesting and amazing person. She's rather eccentric, though.

Well mine of course currently isn't, but yes usually i have a picture of myself there. :) I put some up in my profile as well. I think it would be cool if everyone did that to tell you the truth. I think it's cool to be able to know what the person you are talking to looks like. I think it makes it more real and not like you are just "talking" to a computer. :)

Yes, that is me. I tend to use pictures of my family alot too. I only use people who are important in my life. I think the pictue is a reflection of who I am.

of course its me...^^ you can also check my pictures in my profile page... but dont laugh at my ugly face... :P well its just a picture anyway... why dont you put your real picture too...its fun putting your own picture..so that people would see you even if its just your pic..at least they see you...^^

It's very obvious, there are lots of pervert out there on the net. (You are not one of them I am very sure of!) And that is probably the main reason why people are a bit reluctant in giving their own picture as their avatar straight away.
As for me, I don't put myself there because I guess if someone really put their effort to know more about me, I should give them a credit for that. I would also like to know more about the other person but perhabs not straight away.

No, I am not the person pictured in myloy icon, but my family says this is the way I am. I have 2 or 3 t-shirts that say Grumpy University or something like that. I dont think that I am grumpy all the time but maybe I am. I am trying to change that.

No. I haven't uploaded yet my photo. One of these days I try to do so. My icon is a pig. I think its cute that's why I used it as my icon.
