I used to watch naruto since the very beginning, but it seems they have had like a years worth of just filler episodes, and not really moving the story along. What is you guy's take on this? I am ready to see more scenes when they find Sasuke and Orochimaru. When will the filler end?!

Well the reason is simple. Anime runs faster than manga. So the manga was runnig short on demand. But the question to be really asked is y so many fillers. Its been a year of fillers. Why don't they learn lessons from Bleach which took a single plot for fillers and then just continued with the main manga in very quick time.

My thoughts exactly, why a year full of just fillers. Are they wanting the manga to get a really long head start? heh. I do like how Bleach does their fillers, it is only a few eps long, not a years worth.

The fillers are there so that the anime won't catch up with the manga. That way, the anime will have lots of grounds to get ideas from. Think of it of letting the manga progress even further ahead of the anime. ^-^ Fillers will end February! YAY!

I knew they do that to not catch up to the manga, but it's been like a year. I remember when they said like around ep 180 the filler was going to be ending soon, but it is up to ep 217. If it is true that it is going to stop in Feb...I can't wait.

i believe this filler (which started last Jan 3) is the last filler. So they would air the actual anime based on manga showing Kakashi's obtaining the sharingan

in the manga it skips 3 years but in the anime i think they are actually doing the 3years. Thats why there is so many fillers-to fill up the "3years" that the managa missed

Gotcha. I haven't tried looking at the manga to see what happens, thanks for shedding some light.
