Adding pictures/photos to posts

How do I add an image with a post I want to make.
I can see the add an image bit to click on the lefthand side as I am typing this but it seems that this does not appear when posting a reply in someone elses discussion. I am clicking on "respond to this discussion" and not "add comment".
Is there something that I am missing? Am I doing something wrong?
Can someone please help me out or enlighten me.

i hope i reach 500 soon icant wait to take advantage of these extra features its a bit like someones cut my arm off because i have been so used to these features on a daily basis and now im told icant use them for a while which is quite hard sometimes especially when you rely on them.

I don't think it will make a huge difference to me when I reach 500 but it will be handy to be able to add pictures when they will be helpful to my replies.

You should read the FAQ section, and the section on adding images. You can't add images until you have five hundred posts. You only have five. You've got four hundred and ninety five posts to go before you can add images.

Thanks you your reply, I did do a search on mylot but didn't find anything. Simplest of things I didn't think to look in FAQ but I did look in the photo guidelines bits.

YOu must first reach 500 posts before mylot will let you post a photo! Once you get to 500 posts you will no longer have a problem and i also see that you are almost at 100 posts which means that you will be getting your star rating in 3 more responses from you! Congratulations on that and good luck in reaching your 500!

Yeah I will just have to keep at it. I was aiming to get my 100 last night but just couldn't concentrate enough so went to bed.

Well, I personally think that 500 posts is a bit heavy, am I alone?
I mean okay, you can earn money with adding pics but what would you stop from abusing this if you have 500 posts instead of 0?
I mean, if I would abuse it i would just need to wait and could still abuse it, whats the point of 500 posts? Should the long way to there take the will out of such thinkings?
and NO I'm not planning in abusing this, that was just an example ^^
I just wish I could already add a few pics to my Iso noise and Disgaea 2 thread...

Yeah I think 500 is a little high but oh well I'm sure we will all get there eventually. The reason I asked was in replying to a discussion about wedding dress colours I was going to add a picture to show the colour I was talking about.

maybe if we ask nicely we can convince someone from the mylot staff to change that to lets say 200 or 250 and if not then we just have to take the hard road to the golden 500 but for now I'm first aming for the silver 100 because I hope I'll get a star soon to increase my earnings a bit ^^
i like mylot anyways :D
