I dont understand, What is the point? a lot of people are requesting friendship and I dont know them! they have never posted anything for my questions nor have I posted to theirs. Do we get more money or something for having more friends? Whats up with this?Sorry if this is rude, Im just curious!

No you dont get more money for adding people to your friend list... People generally do it to get more members to reply to their discussions dats what i have noticed.....

I'm guessing it depends on the quality of the posts. It's difficult to exactly know how things work here regarding how payments are calculated.
I based my friends theory on typical Internet Marketing, which is the more people you connect with, the more potential you generate.
It isn't an exact science unfortunately

I ish I could make some more quality friends here. I do not receive responses from them, but I understand, because they do not have all the time. I want more friends, but at least they should match me a little and at least make sure that we're going to cooperate with each other.

A lot of people have asked the same as you. Even I get the same feelings.
If a person wants to be my friend, then I have to see them respond to more than one discussion. This want they will get a feel for what type of person I am and I can see if I would get along with them.
We don't earn money by the more friends we have. But I have many friends because I do respond to all of their discussions. And I have them set on notify. This way, I am sure to get their discussions via email and I am not to miss anything that could get mixed up in the shuffle of discussions.
I think some people see it as a popularity contest.
I have left my high schools days behind me.
But then if one looks at my profile and sees that I have over a hunderd friends, one would probably think the same of me also.
But I can tell you something about each and every one of my friends. To me, this is what friends are. People that know you and they know you back.
But, some friends frequent more than others. So, some of my friends I do not better than others.
So, if I find someone that requests friends with me and has not bothered to answer any of my discussions, I do not approve them. I'm sorry people for the rejection. But by not answering any discussions, those people are not showing me that they are interested in getting to know me and me know them.

This is my take on it, this is a social network, so it's all about connecting. The more connections you make, the more people get to know about your posts & discussions.
The more your posts & discussions get seen & receive responses, the more money you can potentially make because your discussions are larger.
Also, even though the person that adds you has nothing to do with you, someone else viewing their profile may be the ideal person to have as a friend & shares a lot of interests with you :)

Great way to explain it JayTech!! Of course, it's purely optional if you want to keep a smaller amount of friends, keeping discussions smaller, and everything else smaller . P.S. anyone - send me a friend link, I only have 2...lol

You know when you were born in this world you even dont know about your parents. Its for the first time you have seen them, feel them, love them and the same thing goes for friendship. Give atleast one chance.

I guess the whole point is to read and post and comment...so the more friends you have, the more shortcuts you have to doing this. Also, I've added some people I don't know for the simple fact that I liked something they wrote or really agreed with something they wrote. It's that simple, in my opinion anyways!

I know the feeling. Every time I log on, I have at least five friends requests waiting for me. Most of which I've never read anything by. I don't think we get any more money for the amount of friends we have, but these people are probably just trying to cover all their bases.
