There are many different views on tattoos, be it they are a work of art or a release of emotions, or to the work of evil and a deforming act. I believe tattoos to be a work of art and that the tattoo artist is putting his emotions into the tatto to express the feelings and meaning of what he is portraying. If a person gets a tattoo, it obviously has meaning to that person that others may never understand. I have been planing to get a tattoo for a while now but have yet to fully finish the design. My brother has 4 tattoos that all have meaning to him. what is everyones views on tattoos and do you feel that they are works of art?

To some people tattoos are a waste of time and pointless...but then to others they are yes not only art work but symbolic. For example An old friend of mine has multiple tattoos...all for their own reason. She went and has a tattoo of chinesse letterings done and no body understand why she did this or what it means. To them its pointless. To her this tattoo has a special meaning. Its her brothers name in chinesse.A tatto must be a personal choice not a dear because its there for ever! They are not only breath taking art work...but symbolic and some evern spiritual.

They are works of art if it has meanings behind them. My husband has a tat on his arm with all the kids' names on it. It's beautiful. There's nothing wrong with it as long as it looks clean.

I think they sometimes look good on others, but for me personally, I do not like them. I think the natural look is best. However, they are more in style now than they were when I was growing up. So, to each his own. If it is something you want and like, then you should probably get it.
