My favorite teacher in school was my 10th grade English teacher. It was kind of funny because pretty much the rest of the school hated her. She made us work really hard and had previously been a college teacher. She started getting me out of study hall to help her grade papers because I was the top student in my class. Then she started getting me out of study hall just to talk. I was going through a hard time that year as my Mom was sick with cancer. That teacher helped me get through that. Even after I was no longer in her class she would stop me in the hall and ask how I was doing and how my Mom was doing. Who was your favorite teacher and why?

Mine was a 7th grade teacher. He made all the difference in my life. He brought fun back to learning and gave me a whole new perspective on my future education.
It's because of him that I did not put limitations on myself, buy finishing highschool and college. That was always one of his lessons

This is so funny, I just posted in your other discussion a while ago. I posted about how I hated my 10th grade English teacher !
Anyway, my favorite teacher was my 9th grade Biology teacher, Mr. Scarano. It was his first time teaching and our first time in high school. He was wonderful. He was funny and friendly, joking all the time. When you didn't know the answer he would give it to you. During a test, if you were stuck on an answer he would read it outloud and let others give the answer. I thought he was wacky but loved him. When it got to mid term exams he didn't give any answers. He was the first biology teacher in 5 years in our school to have all of his students pass with nothing less than a C grade. Every one loved him. He's still a teacher but now he's a professor at the state college in our town.

My favorite teacher was my proffesor in 2nd yr of college primarily becoz he stuck to the practical nature of the subject rather than just the theorectical background.... Its such a respite from the normal theoretical stuff that we go through everyday

My favorite teacher was in my grade 12th year . It was my English teacher as well . I was very shy and quiet in school and this used to seem to annoy the other teachers but it didn't bother her at all , she would try to find ways to keep the whole class a part of the lecture for the day and never commented on who did better or worse . I ended up graduating highest in my class that year . I wasn't a very quick learner but she had a way to make sure everyone understood what she was doing . I still see her once in awhile now as an adult and have often thought I should let her know that she is part of the reason I stayed in school and how much I admired her for her teaching school but don't know how to approach her about it .

i had an amazing teacher in 9th grade. she was my math teacher. i used to be a real trouble maker in school and one day i started acting up in her class. she kicked me out, now not just for that day but the entire semester. i was so mad at the time and hated her. but not being able to get away with anything from her really got me thinking. the following i had her again, but this time i was good. this was the first and only class where i listened and didn't act up cause i knew i couldn't get away with it. anyway after this she was very nice to me when i was nice to her and she really made things positive for me. even when the following year she changed schools she would come and tutor me cuase i wasn't doing good in grade 12 math because i was so used to the way she taught and didn't like the other teachers. then when i moved out on my own at 17, i was still in high school and on welfare. she would get me to babysit her kids cause she knew i needed the money and then send me home with containers of food so i always had something to eat. she was amazing and i'll never forget her.

I always liked my math teachers, they were always very helpful and understood that we wouldn't always ace tests thus was never too hard of the class when some failed.

My favorite teacher is Frau. Her real "teacher" name was Mrs. Altermatt, but she was my German teacher, and Frau means "Mrs." and stuck as her nickname.
She was the sweetest, most inspirational teacher I had ever met. She really believed in the worth of each of her students.
I ended up having her for study hall and eleventh grade English, as well.
And then she became the faculty advisor for the yearbook staff, and we worked together on that for three years.
And we're still friends. she was one of those honored at my wedding this past summer. She's like another mom, a best friend, and I always turn to her. I love her.
