What makes the sopranos so Good?

It's really difficult for me to identify one thing that draws me to The Sopranos. I like Gandolfini as an actor, and I guess he makes a 'big' screen presence. And the raw sense of humour attracts me too. The plot is always interesting, and the portrayal of both the mafia life and family life, I mean the comparisons and contrasts, is truly intriguing!

i really liked watching 'the sopranos' since the time i've watched many mafia movies like 'The Godfather' trilogy, carlito's way, etc.. besides, 'the sopranos' are in a modern setting with regards to mafia movies, in which the director revolves the story around every family member, how they feel, how they react to situations, etc. compared to old mafia movies which tends to focus on the main character for lack of time. Of course, my favorite character is Tony Soprano

What makes it so good is the contrasts of this "bad" guy and how he has a family life and likes cute ducks and ect. It brings a human element to a criminal which is hard for anyone to ever see, but is truly always there to some degree. When you see headlines in a paper it is about the crime and the person who committed it is turned into a villian without any background of being human.

I think the show is popular because people are always fascinated with the life of mobsters.

I love everything about this show. I'm from new york so it kind of reminds me of my family and especially my uncles lol. I love the accents and i love toni the most , he is so powerful and it really makes him sexy.
