Hi fellow friends and mylotians. I am curious about something. What are your most important household appliances, this includes computers, toasters, irons, cell phones, etc. Can you list them in order of importance and say the reason why they are important.
1. Refridgerator-We have to eat, and also preserve our food.
2. Stove-we have to eat and cook our food.
3. Computer-it opens up the whole world, also I need it for my business.
4. Washing machine-I like to have clean clothes.
5. Microwave-for convenience.
6. Alarm clock-obvious reasons.
7. Hair dryer-I have long hair and I don't like bad hair days.
8. Cell phone-I like to have my family be able to get ahold of me, I have a prepay
phone, so my family are the only ones with the number. Also I have it for safety.
9. TV-entertainment, relaxation, news, etc.
10.The rest of my household stuff is just lumped together, mixer, toaster, slow
cooker, food processer, iron, ect. Its no big deal whether I have those things
or not. They are nice to have but are not a neccesity.

Interesting question you pose.
1. Heating stove, we use coal so I use this for both heat and cooking in winter. I can aslo heat water for bathing and hot chocolate on it. I keep boiling water on it all the time.
2. Cell Phone. I have medical problems. My husband made me promise to keep my cell phone on me at all times. So if I fall or pass out (course I have to come to) I can call for help. He also calls me each night from work to check on me. One night, I had passed out and he could not reach me,,he rushed home, found me and took me to ER.I have a wonderful husband.
3. Computer, I keep up with weather, news, and make money all at the same time. Would hate to do without it.
3. Dehydrater, we dehydrate alot of our food. I could do this on the heat stove but dehydrater is much safer.
4. Washer, I had to wash clothes on my hands the first year we were married and that was hard. We finally got a wringer washer and I ran my hand in the wringer once..that hurt now I have a HE Washer and I love it.
5. Refridgetor, I could do without this and use the well house to keep food cool but they are a nice convience.
6 Kitchen Aid Mixer, I love this thing, I use it to mix up my homemade mixes, to grind ground beef and groud deer.I use it to make ice cream...so many uses. Love it
7. Water heater, I would have to say that I could do without it but it is so nice to have.
8. TV, I dont watch it much but I do enjoy CSI, The unit and nubmers adn the BYUTV cannel. I could do with out it and have for many years.
Everything else, i could do without if I had to but they sure make life alot easier

I hate to iron too, I think that is the number one thing we dislike doing. I don't understand how those extra letters got in your response, that happened to me once.

Hi there !
It is always better to have a "quality check" in terms of "wok place" as well as "house matters" ! Though
unknowingly, thats what you are doing now ! well...
thats good !
But any househod, few items will be there, which have been bought unnecessarily or gifted ..
dont worry ! Wait for few days.. and do another
re-assessment and if the picture is same, sell it off ...thats it and for future.dont buy anything for the "kick" of it..
best wishes !

For me it is simple, my washing machine. I can live without the Television, refrigerator, electric iron, mixer-grinder, etc. etc... but, without Washing Machine life seems to be impossible. I hate to wash clothes manually also I just can't rely on the local laundry. So the Machine seems to be the only option open for me.

1. we agree that the refrigerator is most imporant to store our food
2. we also agree on the stove. How else to cook the food unless you have a gas grill that you use year-round.
3. Washing machine - need to have clean clothes and I do not fancy scrubbing clothes on a washboard....did that and my knuckles have never been the same.
4. television - need entertainment - Lost is coming back in February.
5. computer - it was a toss up between the tv and the pc - keeps me in touch with friends from all over the world, needed for collection of information that would otherwise not be so readily available.
6. Telephone - sometimes you just need to hear a friendly voice.
7. Hair dryer - Low on my list, but still a necessity - quick styling method
8. clothes dryer - only used in winter months, and to fluff clothes, beats wearing wet clothes.
9. Slow cooker - great to pop food in at the beginning of the day and come home to have dinner ready and waiting for you.
10. toaster - love toast in the morning and it sure beats piercing bread with a fork and holding it over an open flame.

1. Refridgerator because without it what would we do without good fresh meat and vegetables as well as milk and so much more!!!
2. Stove would have to be my second for obvious reasons!
3. My computer is very important to me for way too many reasons to list right now ... LOL!

Wow, I might've forgotten about the hair dryer if you hadn't mentioned it! *laugh*
I'm not sure if I could list mine in order, but boy oh boy is my computer right up there at the top. Then the fridge and the microwave, since I can get along without a stove if I have to.
I don't use an alarm clock... I guess the next would be the television, but I could almost get along without it at this point (if I had to) simply because I watch a lot of stuff on the computer, anyway. The phone has to be in here somewhere, but I can't say a cell phone because my family still doesn't own one of those. Maybe this summer I'm going to be getting one. Not sure yet.

I have to say that I always thought that the fridge would be on the top of my most important appliances , but I have been without one for more than 4 months.

Mmmm...let me see...
1. Refrigerator (keep food fresh, gotta eat!)
2. Stove (have to cook the food, gotta eat!)
3. Telephone (son has a heart condition, have to be able to call 911, docs & I like to keep in touch with family, friends)
4. Washing machine (need clean clothes & with a family of 6 the laundromat would leave me broke!)
5. Clothes dryer (our weather is too unpredicatable to rely on drying clothes on the line ;)
6. Alarm clock (hubby's boss doesn't have a sense of humor and neither does mine!)
7. Computer (I work from home which is almost a necessity for us)
8. Radio (I like to listen to music and use the radio to stay on top of weather and traffic issues, school closings, etc.)
9. TV (It's nice to relax and watch a show or movie every now and then, also to keep a check on the weather, traffic, etc.)
Everything else is just a perk!

I think stove should come first we need to cook in order to eat. Second is refrigerator, saves time and money , preserves food and reduces the work load.Computer should come next, it is the window to the outside world and gives us almost all forms of communication and knowledge. Rest of the things are useful and necessary but probably one can manage without one. No , in todays world we cannot do without TV , microwave and DVD player, washing machine joins the list.
