Children living with single parent

We are currently living in a era where most children are growing up in a single parent home. The custodial parent has to provide most of the needs for the child (children)in the home. what are your views on single parent families? Do you feel the children are lacking the support they need in any way? ex emotionally, mentally, and do you think that they are more prone to criminal activities than those from a 2 parent home.
