Why are cats the number #1 pet in America yet we claim to love dogs more?

Why do people think there is something wrong with liking cats? In my experience, people that like them are afraid to say so.

Many, many people on mylot like cats and I am proudly one of them. Cats are a large part of my life. I also have a little dog who loves playing with her cat buddies.
