How many countries have you visited?

I've visited over 50 countries since 1965. It's true once you travel you get bitten by the 'travel bug' and you never lose those itchy feet. My first trip was around the world, since then I have traveled consistantly. Now I work and live in one of the foreign countries I visited. I'd like to hear your experiences.

I must confess to being one of those Brits that hasn't travelled a lot, mainly due to circumstances. But about 5 years ago I spent a month in Warsaw Poland, which I loved. What an amazing City & Country

I am a 21 year old student from the UK and i would say that i have been lucky with the opportunities given to me with travel. Whilst still at school i went on a good number of holidays and visited many wonderful countries but when i finished my A levels i decided to take a gap year and travel. I went to Thailand, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and Fiji and they were the best 4 months of my life. Since then i continously want to travel but those 4 months pretty much reduced my bank balance to cinders. I managed to get myself to Egypt the following month and was also very lucky to go with my parents to China this past Easter. So all in all for my age i feel that i have done pretty well with this travelling malarky, but as you know there is a lot of the world to see and im looking forward to getting on and seeing it :)

At a guess I'd say you've already been bitten by 'THE TRAVEL BUG'. It was 1966 when I first travelled to the UK from Australia. You had to save for a year or more in those days to go abroad from Aus. as it was so far and so expensive. Most Aussies then sailed to Europe. One long six week party! I was amazed to find there so many Brits who hadn't left their shores even though they had so many interesting coubtries and cultures at their doorstep. By taking a weekend job, as well as my nine-to-five, I was able to save enough to take a year off. I spent seven months in Europe and Btitain. The bug bit me, and on and off I've been travelling since. Good luck for your future.

I love to travel, but I never count. Maybe 20-25? I wish to see Australia and New Zeland some day.

I wondered if the apple was there to tempt someone, as Eve in the Garden of Eden. I believe Adam was self employed also.

I love travelling but I don't always have had the time or the money ... Nevertheless, when I was living in France, I travelled a little in Europe I went to England 3 times - loved it, to Spain 4 times - especially in Summer !, to Italy only once ... ,and once in former Yougoslavia - two weeks before the war !!! and we didn't know it ... been lucy on that one to to get stuck in the country! But what a beautiful country it was. It's a shame the war destroyed most of it Then I moved to the United and so far hve only visited Georgia! But I love it... I wish I could travel more, and I would like to visit Australia ...

You sound as though you have the travel bug, and still want to see more of our beautiful world. I drove through the old Yugoslavia, and you're right, it is a beautiful country. One of my most vivid memories was going from West to East Berlin and back through the historical 'Checkpoint Charlie'it was an experience I'll never forget. Another scary recollection was when my friend had my passport and had gone to Gibralta, stranding me in Spain at a time when they were not very happy with the Brits. Lots of memories, but so long ago!

I notice you're from Finland. Well Finland was one of the countries I visited in 1966, and I can still remember how beautiful it is, and how friendly the people are. I wrote post cards (no internet then) to my family and friends back in Australia almost all night, and without a light. It was amazing. Have you been bitten by the travel bug yet? Have you plans to travel some more? Good luck.

Wow....50 countries....that's amazing. It's also a great way to spend your money, I think. Can you name all 50 and maybe say something about it? I have been to less than 10: US twice, Canada, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, Hongkong, South Korea, the Philippines.

You're young, and I would guess you have already got 'itchy feet' or have been bitten by 'the travel bug', it hits all of us who love to travel. After saving, and working two jobs for over two years, I first went from Australia to Europe in 1966. My friend and I bought a VW in Germany and traveled around Europe for almost four months. We went as far as Finland in the north, and Morocco down south, before settling in London for a few months to earn some money. Europe is a totally different place now. I went home through the U.S. and Mexico. That was when I was bitten, and since then I've been overseas more times than I can remember. I've been to your country three times. I'm sure when you're my age you probably will have caught up. Good luck anjla

I'm guessing you're British. Am I right? Actually there are a couple of places I really loved a little more than others, however each has its own special value. The one place I'd really like to return to is Crete. We planned to stay there four days, but stayed two weeks. Things in Europe now have changed so much in forty years I think if I returned I'd be disappointed. People tell me now Crete is not worth the trouble. Obviously Thailand was another country I loved. That's why I'm living and working here now. Good luck with your future trips.
