The Mayan calender is said to be the most precise calender in the world. Events marked on the mayan calender thousands of years ago have come true exactly at the time and date marked on the calender. Right now at this very moment the mayan calender marks a cycle that the sun has started into, this cycle is supposed to end on December 23 2012 at 11:43 p.m. and the mayan calender will fall to all zero's. According to the calender this will be the end of the world.
I am not sure if I believe this or not BUT the mayan calender has marked astrological events to the second and they have came true. According to the calender the sun is going into one of its hottest cycles, I can believe this and I think it is posible that the rise in the earths temerture is partly evidence to this fact. What I do believe is this. as the sun continues into this cycle and becomes hotter and hotter the earths temperture is going to continue rising and we are going to see catastrophic desasters because of the severity of unpredictable storm fronts, volcanic eruptions and severe drought across the face of the planet, However I think all of this will subside as the sun nears the end of this cycle in the year 2012. What do you think ? Do you have any insight or opinions about this ?

I did know it, i am really interested in mayan and aztec culture!! The last day of this mayan age, however, is on December 22 2012, not 23! The consequences of the end of a mayan age were catastrophes, but this was the last age for the maya culture, so it will be the end of the world!! It would be really interesting if it was true, but honestly i don't know what to think about it!

I am actually very intrested in this subject I have done a lot of research and saw the documentry on national geographic chanell about this date. And I must say it is very intresting but at the same time pretty scary since a lot of people way back then predicted that something will happen on this date which I dont really beleave anything will happen but the day before I know I will be scared about what could happen the next day.

I think that God says no one knows the day and the hour, but honestly, I'll be a little freaked out on that day anyway!

Yes I know that the bible says that no man will know the day and hour BUT do you also know that the bible does not say that the world is going to come to an end ? What the bible actualy say is this: "The world will come to an end as we know it" and when the last prophecy of revolations has come to pass the earth will be inherited by a race of meek fair skinned people

All I know is that every time someone says the world is going to end on this day and it passes I get a good laugh out of it. About a year ago this guy was on a morning radio show and he said there were signs in the bible that said the world would end in about a week and that his name was coded all throughout the bible (even is friends agreed about this) and god told him to warn the world. The DJ asked, "So what will you do if the world doesn't end? Will you agree to come back on our show?" and He said sure but there is no use.
Well, the world didn't come to an end (haha) and I left that city before I could hear if that guy ever went back to the station to stammer his way through excuses.
I think it's all ridiculous. The world will only die of natural causes millions of years from now I'm sure - like if the moon moves too far away or when the sun gets older and grows to an intolerable size. Or, you know, if we nuke each other thanks to religious wars.

Hahah That is kind of my point. The mayan calender calls for the end of the earth But I think it is only a natural occurance that is going to happen, Something caused by this cycle the sun is going into,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,And for the record : Your right, there are all kinds of nuts out there claiming the world is going to end and it is comical to watch or listen to some of them BUT I AM NOT ONE OF THEM......... I am simply pointing out that as far as astrological occurances go, the mayan calender has precisely predicted them all down to the second and there should be no reason not to believe that something is happening with the sun

I am aware of the Mayan Calendar date you mention. Not sure I believe it, though who knows who will be president by then. Is it possible that if it did happen, it wouldn't be natural causes?

Yes I agree. I belive that because the mayans predicted astrological occurances with precise accuracy and everything they predicted concerning the earth and stars has come to pass as they predicted, I see no reason not to believe that the sun has started into its hottest cycle just like they said it would and will continue so until the year 2012. I dont know that the world will come to an end because of this but I am certian that as the suns temperture rises we will begin to have some serious problems here on earth

That's pretty scary stuff! I do agree with all that said though.
