If you (or anyone) believes that the current first-world nations will just sit around and watch India pull a fast one then you are mistaken. Most of the hubbub in India with the booming sector is nonsense because there is no indigenous industry, it is all outsourced. All the US corporations need to do is shift to China or Taiwan and India will fall flat on its face. As for other industry sectors, take a closer look. The only place India is expanding with media attention is where the first world countries either have no interest or they have already too strong a presence to feel threatened. People in power are wary of people who might take their power away. Only a fool would believe that India can actually surpass the first world countries. As long as the uncontrollable population of India makes life less attractive than it is in first world countries, we will always stay behind. You cannot build and maintain the kind of first-world infrastructure for such a large population without sinking hopelessly into national debt. Even Canada and Australian governments are withdrawing certain supports because their populations are getting too big.

I don't know whether India would lead the world or not but, ofcourse if you look at the latest developments which has happened in all the sectors for last couple of decades and the kind of improvements happening, i would say india would atleast make an solid impact in the world in improving and sustaining economy. It would definitely make bigwigs think about their survival for certain extent. May be there are good number of problems within india itself which is holding india in growing w.r.t economy. If you can analyse the situation w.r.t. every bloody thing happening. I would say India will make an effort to lead the world. It all depends on the handling various challenges which arise instantly and facing them with full confidence. It also depends on future generation which is going to participate actively/inactively.

I think you forget that we are led all by America and I don't think they will accept such a change in their plans. It would be an excellent change though to see some other country to take the lead.

the economy of india is growing. Acceptance of India as an outsourcing destination is one of the main factor for that.

The way in which INDIA is progressing now shows that it can be one of the top economies of the world soon.. But the question is can INDIA sustain that level?? if so for how long.. If we start answering this question factors like resources usage, people skills, good government, strong polocies come into picture.. In that case INDIA has evrything except the government.. so the youth need to think soemthing over this and should start thinking about making this development sustainable.. I am sure most of the curent leading economies do not have the sustainable development.. India can take good advantage of this... Please coorect me if I am wrong...
