Fresh Mussels anyone?

Do you eat fresh mussels? We usually cook mussels but if it comes from a reputed resource, now we do. Just be sure they are alive and serve them in a tray of ice to keep them fresh. Lemon would be a perfect accompaniment and nothing else. Redwine vinegar with onions is nice too.

When I was a child, I love to eat it fresh. My grandmother used to gather these native shells called "imbaw" in the dialect and I just love the taste. But like what you said, we have to make sure that we do know where they harvest these mussells or shells. I had never eaten a fresh one for a long long time. Probably someday I will again.
