Who is the best?Lara or Sachin or Ponting?

There must be certain attributes that differentiates the best from the rest..but what differentiates best among the best??

I would say that Ponting is just ahead or Sachin and Lara but not by much, but if Ponting keeps going as he is at the moment he will be the greatest run getter in test cricket in the history of the game and his average just keeps going up and up!

I agree, average is also a key thing..
There must be certainly other factors than averages..
what else is the criterion for choosing Ponting by you?

In my opinion, Lara is the best. he is a kind of player who canplay against any team. recently McGrath and Shane Warn got retirement from the international cricket and they said in their interview that they always find it difficult to get Lara's wicket. He is very sound batsman. Many of other great bowlers have the same opinion about LARA. I like him very much.

Lara himself considers Sachin to be the best..Ponting is out of question..he is not in the fray among the best although his averages are higher..
