type for cash scams

there are several type for cash scams out there (almost all of them). has anyone lost money to these criminals?

I haven't, I've usually steered away from though, if they're not prepared to pay some up front on completion of 'some' of the writing and the rest when it's finished. I'm not prepared to write.
