Thank-you note is an invaluable asset in Business and social life for all age groups, so I think we should use the word more often even to those whom we take for granted our family members for example.then everybody will feel happy it is a very powerful tool in interpersonal relationships, what do you'll think?

I agree with you NancyLobo, we just dont say it enough, especially to our family members. However, I really think that it depend on the cultural background of the people involved and also the personality of people. Some cultures and personalities abuse the thank you gesture and make it redundant, while other people dont say it at all even when well deserved.

I think a thank-you is powerful overall. Thank-you shows appreciation. The form of the thank-you can vary; it can be a simple "thank-you." It can be a flower, plant, painting, or something else personal that you give to someone. Or it can be jewelry, dinner, etc. But, the form of the thank-you or how one chooses to say express gratitude, is not as important as acknowledging someone's act.
So, acknowledging a deed is really what's important...of course a simple thank-you works too and I agree, it should be expressed more often....
